Manuela’s opinion

Why go there?

To swallow a marrow bone and suck an egg "meurette" at Septième Vin, a restaurant looking like a wine bar, in Paris 7th district.

For the charm of its small vaulted cave that mixes red bricks, checked tableclothes and ancient woodworks.

For the good taste of Olivier Buret, the boss who is second to none for finding nice bottles of French wine.

With who?

Mama, nostalgic of old-fashioned cuisine.

The regulars

Businessmen for lunch, and people of the neighbourhood for dinner.

Must-Eat dishes

Marrow bone au gratin (12€), for starter ; Old-style blanquette of veal (19€), for main course ; and for dessert, Home-made wine poached pear with cinnamon (6,50€).

The wines

Corbières 2007 Château Romilhac of M. Bouvier (22€).

Best tables

N°2 or 3, to be cosily seated on big leather armchairs.
